This is the monthly amount you would pay for the hosting plan you select. Payment is in advance of the month of service. A discount of 5% is given if you pay in advance for quarterly or semi-yearly service, and 10% is discounted if you pay for a year of service in advance. |

A one time only fee required to set up new accounts. |
| 30 day guarantee |
All new accounts include a 30 day money-back guarantee. At any time during the first 30 days of service, you may cancel your account at any time with no penalty and receive a refund for your first month of service. The setup fee is NOT refundable, however. |
| Disk space |
The maximum disk space that you are allowed to have for the hosting plan you select. Additional disk space can be provided for a minimal extra fee -- contact us for details. |
| Bandwidth |
The maximum amount of traffic your website can transfer in one month. You can view your monthly traffic totals by visiting your Control Panel. Bandwidth used in excess of your maximum is billed at an additional $10 per 100MB of traffic transferred. |
| Daily backups |
We perform nightly backups to ensure the validity of our data. Should you need data restored, we will make every attempt to recover your data from our backups. |
| Server UPS's |
All of our networking equipment is backed up by batteries in the case of a power failure. This ensures the minimum downtime for our customers. |
| Tech support |
We provide free technical support via E-mail (support@fatcity.com) and our on-line guides. At this time, we provide only limited telephone support. Urgent problems (such as loss of connectivity) are handled immediately. Business accounts receive a four hour maximum response time guarantee. |
| Control panel |
Each website we host has a password-protected Control Panel which allows you to make changes to your account, your website configuration, set up E-mail addresses, auto-responders, etc. |
| Email accounts |
We provide you with a set number of E-mail accounts which you may use for any purpose. Additional E-mail accounts are available for an extra charge -- contact us for details. E-mail accounts have POP3/SMTP access as well as web access. |
| Email aliases |
Aliases allow you to setup several names that all funnel mail to the same account. For example, you could have "sales" and "support" both go to your private E-mail account. |
| Auto-responders |
You can set up your own auto-responder to reply to E-mails sent to specific addresses automatically. For example, "sales", "help", etc. |
| Email forwarding |
We offer E-mail forwarding for any of the E-mail accounts you have set up. Incoming mail to an E-mail address can be automatically forwarded to another address you specify. |
| CGI scripts |
CGI scripts are Perl programs that live in a special directory under your website. You can submit scripts to be added and then run when users submit forms. This allows you to have guestbooks, message boards, feedback forms, etc. We provide a number of pre-written scripts to help you set up your site fast. |
| FrontPage extensions |
If you are using Microsoft FrontPage to develop your website, these extensions make it possible for you to publish your pages directly to your hosted site. FrontPage extensions are only available if you elect to host using Microsoft Windows servers. |
| Perl 5.0 |
Perl is a programming language that is a mainstay of the Internet. We allow you to write your own Perl programs and submit them for use on your website. |
| PHP 4.0 |
PHP is an open-source scripting language that allows you to add dynamic content to your website. Pull data from a database, display interactive pages, etc. Thousands of sites on the Internet use PHP as base of their web content. |
| ColdFusion MX |
Macromedia ColdFusion is the most widely-used tag-based scripting language on the Internet. It's very powerful HTML-like tags make dynamic content fast and easy. Many website hosting companies don't offer ColdFusion at all, but we definitely do, and at some of the lowest prices on the net. ColdFusion hosting is provided on Microsoft Windows servers only. |
| Flash MX Remoting |
Macromedia Flash MX remoting allows you to create rich graphical interfaces using Flash MX, and tie those interfaces to ColdFusion database sources to provide one of the most beautiful content-rich sites you can make. |

Available as an option to select customers, Java Server Pages (JSP) are another way to add dynamic content to your website. They require a development environment to create the pages, so this isn't necessarily for everyone. |

| Active Server Pages |
Active Server Pages, or ASP, is Microsoft's solution to dynamic content. Pages are written in VBScript, a VisualBasic-like language, and can do many of the things PHP and ColdFusion can. Because this is a Microsoft-centric solution (whereas PHP and ColdFusion run on just about any architecture), this is an optional item and requires that you host your website on Microsoft Windows servers. |
| Linux Servers |
You may choose to host your website on Linux servers or Microsoft Windows servers, depending on your personal preference. Note that a Linux shell account requires that you host your website on Linux servers only. |
| Linux ssh access |
For Linux shell accounts, access is provided by secure ssh access. No unsecured telnet access is provided. |
| Linux shell accounts |
Linux shell accounts (basically, a RedHat 7.x command-line Unix interface) will be provided at no additional cost to those who request it. This requires that you host your website on Linux servers. |
| Windows Servers |
You may choose to host your website on Linux servers or Microsoft Windows servers, depending on your personal preference. Note that ColdFusion and FrontPage extensions require that your website be hosted on Microsoft Windows servers only. |
| MySQL 3.23 |
A commonly-used open-source database system. MySQL is a fast and simple way to store data and make it available on your website. |
| MS Access 2000 |
For those who are using ColdFusion, you can store your information in a Microsoft Access database and pull the information out of that database directly. |
| PostgreSQL |
Another database option is PostgreSQL. Similar to MySQL, but with more features, including stored procedures, transaction support and so on. If you need an open-source alternative with more power than MySQL, this is it. |
| SQL Server 2000 |
Our most powerful database option is Microsoft SQL Server. With this database, you can get the best performance possible on the web when using it with ColdFusion. Business customers and high-end websites will want this functionality. |
| Oracle 8.1.7 |
Oracle is an available option, however because of the hosting requirements, we must host you on our Oracle servers. Contact us if you want to use Oracle for your website. Note that we also support PL/SQL and Portal with this option. |

For those who need Oracle OSE or mod_plsql functionality, we provide both to customers hosting on our Oracle servers. |
| SSL services |
If you require secure pages for your website (ones that include a security authenticity certificate), you would use SSL services. |
| E-commerce |
Shopping cart functionality and simple E-commerce websites can be created for customers needing this feature. Contact us for more details and prices. |
| FTP dropbox |
All plans include an FTP dropbox where you can put files up for download by others on the Internet. Each plan has greater limits on the available space. |
| RealServer server |
If you want to stream audio or video from your website, then RealServer is the best solution. Your media is protected by only allowing streaming data instead of requiring users to download (and therefore, save) the content. In addition, performance is improved by streaming the media. Note that you can use WindowsMedia v7 or greater and achieve a similar streamed result without requiring a server. |
| Virtual domain |
If you'd like, we can create a virtual domain for you which you can then give to your customers. This does NOT require registering a domain name, which is the best part. Your website address would then be something like http://mysite.fatcity.com when given out. This is the fastest way to a personalized website, and it doesn't require any DNS changes on your side. If you do not chose a virtual domain or hosted domain, your website address will be something like: http://members.fatcity.com/mysite, which is sufficient for most customers. |
| Hosted domain |
If you've already registered a domain name, or are planning on registering one soon, we can host your domain services here. This allows you to have your own website (for example, http://www.mysite.com) hosted by Fat City, but using your own custom domain name. |
| Opt-in Email list |
An opt-in mailing list is provided in certain packages which you may use to create your own newsletter, discussion group, etc. You are limited to a certain maximum number of subscribers, and to no more than 1MB of traffic per day. Additional mailing lists or greater limits are available here. |
