| Why not use a free list service? |

That's a very good question!
Free mailing list services like eGroups, Yahoo and Excite are exactly that: free. You
don't get all the attention to customer service that you would here at Fat City. Free
list services are free because they want you (and others) to come to their site, hoping
that they will visit other aspects of their site. In addition, free E-mail services
include advertising, both in the E-mail messages and on the web.
As if that isn't bad enough, these free services are severely overwhelmed with the
volume of traffic that they must transfer. Like airlines that overbook flights, they
count on the fact that not all of the lists will be active at the same time. In
practice, however, you will find that their service is usually fairly slow. For some
services, delivery delays of hours and sometimes days isn't unusual.

what you pay for.
